The Poll Tax return for the village of Castley (Castelay), West Yorkshire, England, for the year 1379 lists a John de Castlay & wife and Richard de Castelay & wife. It is family lore that in 1415 a member of the Castley family left the village of Castley and settled at Rosgill in the neighbouring county of Westmorland. This Castley Family Tree traces the Castley family back as far as extant records allow.
